Awareness of the dangers posed by asbestos is becoming increasingly widespread courtesy of initiatives and campaigns by the HSE. The majority of these campaigns are however aimed primarily at trades-people who run a high risk of encountering the substance during the course of their day to day work. With the hope of drawing attention to the issue at a more widespread and general level we have consulted statistics compiled by sources including the HSE, BBC website and The Express newspaper and created the graphical representation below.
Although we can take no responsibility for the accuracy of the data shown, it has all been drawn from sources which we consider to be authoritative and stems from research conducted within the last two years.
